Karl tried using his Urðr’s Vision, but found that the Troll’s roar blocked him from using it for three seconds.

Great.

The Troll’s mouth lurched downwards for the briefest of seconds, exposing the snowy forest floor beneath them. Immediately, the mouth began to close and tilt up as the Troll tried to keep them inside. Even his stone tongue started to wriggle like a giant snake, searching for them in his mouth to push them into his throat. The giant tongue smacked Kara in the face, and she, as a result, slammed into Karl, chest to chest. For a second, their lips were inches apart as she recovered herself. It was the closest he’d ever been to a woman.

Kara didn’t seem to notice how close they were. Her eyes locked on his. “Do it!”

Time stopped with Urðr’s Vision. His heart pounding, Karl nocked an arrow into his Hököga Bow. It took way too long with Kara on top of him and Björn pulling on his leg.

Two, one, he thought, counting the seconds left.

Karl fired an arrow. His aim was awful, but the ice arrow flew as time resumed, slipping past the teeth.

They Elf Leaped out of the Troll’s mouth, teleporting into the trodden snow a few meters in front of the giant Troll. They all fell on top of each other, which only worsened how drained Karl felt.
